Mental Health & Community Well-Being
- Advocate for increased access to affordable mental health care, particularly for youth and underserved communities.
- Strengthen partnerships with local organizations to provide crisis intervention, counseling, and support services.
- Promote mental health awareness and education through township programs and initiatives.
- Ensure that township services are equipped to address the growing need for mental health resources in the community.
Community Services & Resident Support
- Identify gaps in essential services to support members of our community.
- Continue to strengthen partnerships with local organizations to provide mental health, food security, and emergency assistance programs.
- Create new opportunities for youth engagement, job training, and community enrichment programs.
Infrastructure & Sustainability
- Prioritize smart investments in road maintenance and drainage improvements to keep neighborhoods safe and well-maintained.
- Continue responsible planning and development to meet the needs of a growing township.
- Implement sustainable solutions to reduce long-term costs, such as energy-efficient township facilities and eco-friendly road treatments.
- Seek grants and partnerships to modernize infrastructure without increasing the financial burden on taxpayers.
Transparent & Inclusive Government

Four Years of Progress & Accomplishments
Over the past four years, our Democratic leadership in Wheatland Township has worked tirelessly to ensure responsible governance, fiscal stability, and expanded services for our residents. We have delivered on our promises, demonstrating that efficient, transparent, and community-driven leadership benefits everyone.
In 2024, the bipartisan Decennial Committee on Local Government Efficiency made up of residents and community leaders issued a report stating “our township’s efficiency has increased” resulting in “significant cost and time savings.”
»» Under Democratic leadership, Wheatland Township has had the lowest tax rates in the county, keeping government efficient and protecting taxpayer dollars. We froze taxes in the most recent levy, ensuring that our residents are not burdened with unnecessary increases.
»» Renegotiated contracts to achieve cost savings while maintaining high-quality services for residents. Eliminated budget deficits and ensured long-term fiscal sustainability for the township. Diversified revenue sources through grants and smart investments, reducing reliance on property taxes.
»» Improved partnerships and strengthened assistance programs, ensuring that residents facing hardships receive necessary support.
»» Expanded and improved the township’s road program, prioritizing maintenance and safety. Invested in drainage improvements and infrastructure maintenance, ensuring long-term sustainability for neighborhoods. Proactively planned for future infrastructure needs, securing funding without placing additional burden on taxpayers.
»» Strengthened government transparency by ensuring easier public access to township meetings, financial reports, and programs. Improved efficient and ethical governance, keeping Wheatland Township free of corruption and waste. Operated in a collaborative manner with well over 95% of votes receiving bipartisan support.
