Candidate for Tax Collector

Jim Kopchok
Jim Kopchok is a candidate for the position of Tax Collector for Wheatland Township. This position oversees the management of the Wheatland Township Cemetery. He and his wife Barb have been residents of Naperville for over 40 years, raising their two daughters here (one still lives in Wheatland Township with her family) and now enjoying their three grandchildren.
Jim is retired as the CIO of a nationwide technical training company, where he has demonstrated leadership, planning and business skills to help sustain businesses and deliver high quality learning experiences to thousands of technical students. He was recognized as one of the top technical trainers in the world for one of Microsoft’s training partners. Jim worked on his Master’s Degree while at North Central College.
Jim has stayed busy in the community as Treasurer of the North Wheatland Township Homeowners Association for over 8 years, member of the Citizens Advisory Committee for the Will County Forest Preserve, mentor for Families Helping Families, Elected Precinct Committeeman and past Chairman of the Wheatland Township Democratic Party, and an active advocate and volunteer for senior services by delivering training throughout the area in Driver Safety and the latest automotive technologies for AARP.
He formerly served as an elected member and President of a local school board and member of City Council in his home community for 14 years in Ohio before moving to Naperville.
Jim is looking to use his experience in government and business to help Wheatland Township continue to provide high quality service and transparency to our constituents. As a resident in unincorporated Naperville he understands the importance of high quality Township services as a substitute for the local government often provided by the City. He is passionate about protecting the fiscal integrity of our Township while protecting the value of our homes and quality of life
